We’re delighted to share some exciting news from the 2026 Gold Wine Awards, where four Niel Joubert wines were awarded gold:
🏅 Niel Joubert Chenin Blanc 2026
🏅 Niel Joubert Sauvignon Blanc 2026
🏅 Niel Joubert Pinot Grigio 2026
🏅 Niel Joubert Merlot 2023
Now in its 13th year, the Gold Wine Awards has a distinctive focus: recognising South African wines that offer exceptional quality and genuine value for money.
Wines are assessed under strict double-blind tasting conditions by a panel made up largely of experienced wine retail specialists – people who understand what consumers are looking for in terms of quality, style and price. With labels and reputations removed from the equation, the wines are given the opportunity to speak entirely for themselves.
Gold medals are awarded to wines that not only impress on quality, but also demonstrate outstanding value within their price category.
For Niel Joubert Wines to receive four Gold medals across four different varieties is therefore especially rewarding – from the freshness and vibrancy of our 2026 white wines to the generous character of our Merlot 2023.
It’s wonderful recognition of what we strive to offer with every bottle: approachable, rewarding wines that consistently deliver beyond expectations.
Four wines. Four Golds. Plenty to celebrate.
Here’s to great South African wine, and even greater value!
